Vicki and Ravi had their wedding day at Macdonald Kilhey Court back in May and it was a fantastic blend of Irish and Indian traditions, food and dancing!
We captured all the guests arriving for the civil ceremony, and there was lots of excitement in the air 🙂 Vicki’s aunt sang a beautiful rendition of the traditional Irish folk song ‘She Moved Through The Fair’ as Vicki walked down the aisle. Super small world fact; Vicki and her family had spent many summers staying in Donegal, Ireland where we grew up! It was great to hear so many familiar accents throughout the day and we got chatting to a few guests about local familiar pubs and the famous white, sandy beach.
After the ceremony, we gathered for some confetti and then Vicki & Ravi disappeared to change into their (gorgeous!) traditional outfits for the second part of the day; the Hindu ceremony. Traditional drummers and musicians got the guests dancing in all their colourful dresses and saris, as Ravi rode in on a horse to greet his and Vicki’s family. We found it so fascinating to capture their ceremony, and there were some lovely words of wisdom by Kesri, their priest.
Everybody ended the night on the dance floor, throwing shapes to a mix of music, with lots of Indian dancing and a jig to the ‘Irish Rover’ 😍 Thank you both for having us along, it was great to meet everyone and be part of your day!
