The ever-so-lovely Becca & Ash tied the knot in March and I had the honour of filming the festivities! The day was documented alongside one half of McGill Sister Films; Siobhan Amy Photography . Teamwork making that dream work!

Rocking up to the Spa House in Bath where Becca and the girls were getting ready, the crisp cool air began to flurry with snowflakes. The beast from the East appeared to be touching down, again…but no apparent snowstorm was going to ruin this day. Not a chance!

Becca, her bridesmaids, family (and lovely pooch Amber) milled about the house as they got their hair curled, make up on, and slipped into their unique pink and blush floor length dresses. Amber opted for a corsage; not one for a fuss, but sure lapped up all the excitement and attention. <3

Over at the Lansdowne, Ash kept his cool with his groomsmen and family, but with each old and new friend that blew in the door, the buzz of excitement kept on rising. The smile barely left his face! This is one of my favourite things about weddings – how often do you get to have everyone you love and care about in the same room? (Answer; hardly ever). The crowd soon hurried across Calne, out of the cold and into St. Mary’s church.

When Becca arrived, she walked gleefully down the aisle and waved at Ash as he couldn’t take his eyes off her. Honestly neither could I! She looked so beautiful in her Laure de Sagazan dress with delicate sleeve and bodice detailing. (And of course, I did have to keep the woman in crisp focus!) Ash was dapper to match, in a navy three piece suit. Couple and style #goals.

The ceremony was filled with contemporary hymns. Believe me when I say Becca and her family can sing! The harmonies from her and her dad were heavenly, filling the entire space. Goosebumps, I’m telling ya! While the couple signed the register, Ash’s brothers and co. treated us to a few brass band renditions of some favourite love songs. All you need is love with the original instruments went down a treat <3

The reception took place at Wellington Barn, sheltered away from the cold, in a cozy cabin-like setting. The speeches stirred lots of laughter and a couple of tears – mostly from laughing – and we all caught a glimpse of baby (teenage) Becca and Ash in their early university days, courtesy of the the best men’s photo slideshow. Becca and Ash met in the brass band at uni, so naturally their origin story was musically weaved throughout their day.

After dinner and dessert, the wedding party moved into the hall for the first dance. Not ones to hold back a party, the lovebirds soon pulled family and friends onto the floor and The Brass Funkeys were unleashed! Guests went wild for the acoustic funky brass sound of trumpets, horns and trombones. No mic’s needed, these boys bring the noise and the funk! By the end of the night, the most challenging thing for me is keeping my camera steady and body still while everybody gets down to a rockin’ version of Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars. It’s not easy at the best of times, but that night took the cake!

Becca and Ash, thank you so much for choosing us to capture your day! You were the perfect clients, the cutest couple, and we wish you lots of happiness in your future together.
